Last year, Shaun Nixon walked away with the MISSION MPG Grand Prize — a 2015 Harley Davidson Dyna Wide Glide.

Now in his eighth year with PAM Transport, Shaun is in the top 10% of the company driver fleet when it comes to fuel efficiency. That makes him eligible to win both a Harley-Davidson motorcycle and a Honda four-wheeler in this year’s MISSION MPG Giveaway.

About Shaun

Prior to joining PAM, Shaun spent 35 years in retail management before making the decision to become a professional truck driver. He started driving for PAM Transport in 2008.

What’s he driving?

He currently drives a 2016 Freightliner Evolution.

His favorite thing about being a professional truck driver

Shaun says, “I like to travel; my Dad was a traveling salesman and I enjoy the lifestyle of being on the road. I like being able to be my own boss. As long as I do what I’m supposed to do — deliver the load on time — then I get to make my own decisions.”

About Shaun’s family

Shaun will have been married to his wife Jodie for 30 years as of this June. They have two girls, Ashley and Courtney, and one grandchild, Lincoln James.

Hobbies

When he’s not driving a truck, Shaun is an avid fisherman and also enjoys spending time on the golf course.

Fuel Tip

Shaun says, “The secret to good fuel efficiency is keeping your speed down, never speed. I spend a lot of drive time at 60 miles per hour.”
